Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is the kind of place that sneaks up on you — one moment you’re sipping tea in the hills, the next you’re surfing warm waves or spotting elephants from a tuk-tuk. It’s tropical, wild, deeply cultural, and way more diverse than you expect. One island. Endless vibes.
Start in the hill country with train rides through misty plantations, sunrise hikes, and chill towns like Ella and Nuwara Eliya. That Kandy to Ella train? Pure magic — windows down, breeze in your face, jungle all around. Further south, you’re in beach mode. Laid-back surf towns like Weligama, Mirissa, and Hiriketiya bring warm waves, palm trees, and sunset cocktails. Scuba, snorkelling, and whale watching? All on the menu.
Head inland to climb the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya or explore the Cultural Triangle with its cave temples, sacred cities, and ancient ruins. Don’t skip safari days either — Sri Lanka’s national parks are full of elephants, leopards, crocs, and wild peacocks doing their thing. Yala and Udawalawe are where it’s at.
On tour, it’s mountains to beaches to jungle with tuk-tuks, spicy curries, waterfalls, and monkey encounters in between. It’s affordable, stunning, full of culture, and still flying under the radar. If you're into surf, safaris, tea trains, ancient ruins, and jungle adventures — Sri Lanka’s the one. Underrated? Yeah. Unforgettable? Absolutely.
